TAKE ACTION….

Despite his electoral victory last November, 45 has spent the past 7 months making fallacious claims that there was widespread voter fraud -- that millions of people voted illegally for Clinton. On Thursday, May 11th, 45 signed a Presidential Executive Order on the Establishment of Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. The commission, lead by Mike “Walking Hate Speech” Pence, and filled with 45’s buddies, will be tasked with reviewing federal election laws and processes, and identifying vulnerabilities. But make no mistake, this commission’s goal is the suppression of voting rights. And it needs to be challenged.

Voter suppression laws are spreading. If we don’t fight back, more and more Americans will be disenfranchised. A @JasonKander project.

TAKE CARE…

Registration Matters

Make sure your voter registration is up to date. Help folks who may need it (your 18 yo kids, your elderly neighbor, your bff who hasn’t been registered in years because she “isn’t political”, etc.) to complete their own voter registrations. If helping folks to register seems like a skill you possess, volunteer to register voters.

Know the History
Way back in the day, white dudes in New England declared independence from the Brits, and decided to give the vote to white male landowners. Pretty much everyone else has had to earn the vote, and access to free and fair elections for all citizens is a project that still needs work. Enjoy one or all of these entertaining looks at how history has rocked the vote...

A share in the sovereignty of the state, which is exercised by the citizens at large, in voting at elections is one of the most important rights of the subject, and in a republic ought to stand foremost in the estimation of the law.
